tested in VM not tested on ARM/pi yet

SpudGunMan commented 1 year ago

tested on pi4 (64bit) and appears to be fine, I used the newest version of ahk 1.1.x (the release just prior to 2.0) the prior code was using a 1.0.48 I didnt read any details at all on what changed I just was here to patch and run. There might have been a good reason for the older code but I cant find it yet.

for the life of me I cannot figure out how to install the patch for winelink to my raspberry pi. I have used git, clone and other suggestions to get it from github to the raspberry pi but have now idea to get it installed into the rpi. Have actually spent hours looking on web for instructions but all seem to be for users with a lot more knowledge than me. I have used KM4ACK s build a pi to set the raspberry up for winlink and vara and am stuck at this point. Please help if possible.

Use the fork on the issue thread offered in replacement of this project for the moment. Git clone spudgunman ...

This is a pull request for the winelink project on wheezy

theranger53 commented 1 year ago

I did git clone the fork into the winelink directory in the raspberry but cannot figure out how to install it into the raspberry. I don't know if I am missing a step but I get an error on raspberry that the install is not recognized. I am just trying to install vara and winelink not the RMS winlink full version. Sorry for the trouble but I am not very proficient with all of this as you have probably noticed. I really appreciate the time you have spent on this. All the info I find on web tells me to clone to my computer and make what changes I need and push back to github to merge scripts. I know you have already done all of this. Sometimes I work on these things for a long time and suddenly it just clicks or not. I am using the 32 bit version of Raspberry Pi OS also if that makes a difference.

And your asking on a pull request for the fix. Hit up YouTube for basics on GitHub.

Your support requests might be better in the issues thread or on groups.io KM4ACK?

Replace the file I modded for the use of the file here. Clone my fork for now if this is urgent. Or wait to follow the steps your following. But this isn't the most handy spot for troubleshooting use of git

theranger53 commented 1 year ago

No this is not urgent and I will try on groups.io KM4ACK. Thanks again and I hope you and yours have a very Merry Christmas.
