[Bug]: Trackmania Nations Forever Running Incredibly Slow

Description

I am trying to play Trackmania Nations Forever through Steam. The game installed fine, and the navigation menus run smoothly. However, as soon as I load a map, the frame rate drops to multiple seconds per frame. There was an issue created about something similar last year, but it does not provide a solution.

Steps to reproduce

1. Launch Steam
2. Install Trackmania Nations Forever
3. Run the game
4. After signing in/creating an account, navigate to: Play Solo -> Any Color -> Any Track

Expected behaviour

I expected the game to run at a decent frame rate, since it is an older game with 3D graphics that are on the simpler side.

this issue remains replicable on v.2.3.2, trackmania is a pretty badly written and optimized game though so i dont blame devs for not wanting to deal with it.
