[Bug]: Can't download wine #995

Description

thought it was a version's problem but even downloading an older version it still gets stuck on there! thats my mac spec: CPU: M2 RAM: 8GB OS VERSION: Sonoma 14.5

Steps to reproduce

open for the first time

Expected behaviour

to finish the download

Logs

there's no log yet
not even the directory tho

What version of Whisky are you using?

2.3.2

What version of macOS are you using?

Sonoma (macOS 14)

@erysmvn That means your wifi or VPN is blocking the installation.

Are you on school wifi or using a VPN? If so, try switching to a different wifi network or turning off your VPN.

@erysmvn If you aren’t using one, you should try using one, as it seems you are in Italy.

In some places, especially outside the US, Whisky cannot download WhiskyWine because the servers might not be available in that location.

I recommend X-VPN (X-VPN isn’t affiliated with or a sponsor of Whisky or me, but I use it a lot. It’s free and works well for a free VPN).

@plyght this is not a school laptop and I don’t have WiFi restrictions + I tried the vpn that you suggested and it didn’t work

Weird. I have one more idea: to uninstall Whisky using AppCleaner and reinstall it.

im having same problem. totally open internet connection in the US. i am the network engineer for my organization so its not being blocked by my firewall. ran a packet capture and see it attempting to talk to some 23.32.239.131 and 104.109.250.59 addresses...

Hi! I have the same problem. There is a way to download it via command line? Just to install it "manually". Forgive me but I cannot find a way to do it reading the docs
