This pull request contains a few updates:

I've updated the first blog post to make a bit more sense 😉 - taken out the messing around parts!
I've added in a line to the _config.yml file so we can show emojis in the markdown posts (as explained here).
I've deleted the math-jax example. It can always be found in the original repository.
I've updated the home page
Added gems so that I can run jekyll locally
