Thanks for creating an issue for this! A better overview video would be really useful.
Hello @ragesoss, when you mention that "a better overview video is a better option," does that imply it is okay to do a recreation of the videos rather than editing the current videos? That is, can I create a tutorial where I relay the same message as the current videos but with me as the subject?
Hello @ragesoss here's a video I made, I'll be waiting on your opinion about it https://drive.google.com/file/d/19ClUekxMQxadMN4btrGHVB9YoJ6E05wv/view?usp=sharing
Thanks @larrytamnjong! Here are some things I thought of:
@SamsonMbogo I meant creating a new video (with new content) from scratch, rather than either editing existing videos or re-creating a video with similar content.
Thanks @larrytamnjong! Here are some things I thought of:
- A welcome / purpose / overview video should be built around examples of what you can do with the Dashboard
- It should have plenty of directly relevant visuals showing off the different features of the dashboard in realistic situations
- It should only show the dashboard itself, without any browser chrome or desktop UI outside it.
Thanks for the feedback @ragesoss I'll recreate with this in mind

Hello, @ragesoss I did a remake of the overview video taking into consideration your feedback, and here is the link to the new one https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JY8sKhl7-XbDQ8xCe5XKwAIvFhriurTL/view?usp=sharing I'll be waiting on your feedback on this as well if it aligns with your thoughts. If it does not then I'm open to more feedback until it's great. Thanks
Hello @larrytamnjong. I enjoyed watching the video. It’s really nice.
please which recording tool did you use and how did you achieve the changing features?

@Ukwuezepascaline I used Screen Recorder Pro. It's a free screen recorder on windows you can find on your Microsoft store.
Thank you for this @larrytamnjong let me check it out.
@larrytamnjong thanks! do you have a script you can share as well? any video we end up using in the docs will also need detailed credits for any non-original video footage used (such as the hands typing on the laptop at the beginning), and such footage will need to be freely licensed to be compatible with Wikimedia Commons.
I think this video is trying to do a whole lot at once, combining an overview of the purpose and background of the Dashboard with demonstrations of setting up a campaign and a program. I think that a better strategy for documentation videos for this project will be to develop a set of shorter videos that address a single topic each.
Small things:
In terms of production quality, this is very nice. The script is clearly written, the narration is easy to understand, and the demo videos look good.

Small things:
- The 'Signed out' banner in some of the early screen recording section is not ideal. It would be better to refresh first while logged out, so that the green banner disappears.
- It's better to use realistic titles and descriptions when demonstrating usage (but they can be prepared ahead of time and pasted in, to avoid taking extra time to type them out).

Thank you very much, @ragesoss, for your feedback. I will revise the overview video to concentrate exclusively on the purpose and background of the Dashboard, providing a use case sample without including the demonstrations. I also have a script that I'd be happy to share.
The non-original video footage, such as the hands typing on the laptop at the beginning, has been sourced from Canva, and their license allows for free usage. Here's a link to the license agreement, and you can also find more information here.
Once I finish redoing the video, I'll ensure that everything is put together.
Thanks! It looks like some of the licenses on Canva are compatible, but when you post a new version, please also post links to each of the ones you used so we can verify them individually (and provide credit appropriately).
Hello @ragesoss, I've just finished remaking the video, and you can access it here. Additionally, you can find the script here.
Even though Canva offers a free license, I encountered difficulties in obtaining direct links for the videos I had previously used, as they function more like templates on the site. Furthermore, there appears to be a potential third-party licensing with those videos, which adds confusion to the situation. Therefore, I've opted to proceed without incorporating the external content.
I would love your feedback on the remake, and I want to express my gratitude for your consistent input and guidance.
What is happening?
The video documentation titled "Welcome & Purpose of the Dashboard" contains distractions and a significant portion of it, particularly the introduction, lacks focus.
