Having prepared the first prototype. using a KY-037 sound sensor module; it was possible to make a lighting system that responds to music. The trouble is that the microphone isn't particularly sensitive and has to be VERY carefully calibrated in order to respond properly. What may be worth doing is some kind of start up software calibration in response to a timeout. If the lights haven't turned on for a while, the software can measure the ambient noise and re calibrate.
Am considering having the LEDs on the LKM1638 flash in time to music; using a cheap ass microphone and just measuring the intensity of the sound.
