Consider using Cloudflare for SSL

Github Pages doesn't allow SSL for custom domains, but this article should get you started: https://blog.cloudflare.com/secure-and-fast-github-pages-with-cloudflare/

TL;DR:

• Use Cloudflare DNS servers for your TLD provider
• Add A records pointing towards github IP's
• Enable Full SSL (but not strict)
• Create three page rules: www/https direction and cache (optional)
• Enable HSTS (optional, but recommended)
