Pilot sticks do not swap when changing the mode #316

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.When changing the stick mode (RETA to another one, mode 1 to 4).
2.At power on, if mode 3, the throttle stick is not at right place.
3.Receiver channels not swapped according to the selected mode.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
- on the receiver, stick channels remain inchanged, do not swap...
- "throttle not idle" not
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
r467, flashed on sept 1st 2011.

Please provide any additional information below.

Difficult to explain in another language... As an example,
In mode 1 (European pilot), the receiver channels are defined as 1,2,3,4 (RETA
on the emitter. Throttle is on the right stick).
If mode 2 is selected (USA pilot), there is no change on stick ! Must be
1,3,2,4 (RTEA): now Throttle should be set up on left stick (swapping of sticks
2 and 3).
Would be nice to have the sticks defined according to the selected mode.
Thanks.

I am a European pilot (well, UK) who flies mode 2. I have left stick: throttle
and rudder, right stick: elevator and aileron. The receiver channels for me are
the default RETA. I wouldn't expect to change anything on the plane if I
switched to Mode 1, I'd only expect the left stick to be elevator/rudder and
the right stick to be throttle/aileron.

As an independent reference, I've checked the Multiplex Cockpit SX user manual,
which shows channel assignment not changing for any stick mode.

For example, if you attach a servo to the 'Throttle' rx output in Mode 2, then
the left stick vertical axis should control it. If you change the tx to Mode 1,
it should be the right stick that controls it. Is that not the case? I can't
get to my tx and a spare rx at the moment to test it.

Hi,
That is exactly what it expected when changing from mode 1 to mode 2....
But this is not the case with the present firmware: Throttle stick does not
swap.

not usable for me... will switch to thus...

I think it's a bit much to ask the system to change all the mixer assignments
for all your existing models when you change stick mode AFTER setting up all
your models isn't it? You should have the stick mode set as the very first
thing you do BEFORE setting up any models, no? I can't easily confirm, but it
seems to me very unlikely that th9x will be any different.

I have the same problem. I would like to switch between mode 2 and 4. If the
mode setting just switched the stick input channel mapping right off the bat,
there would be no mix changes.

After soldering my 9x i was so excited to use the er9x firmware, but i'm having
the same issue!! No matter what mode setting i choose the throttle remains on
the right side? Maybe if i just swap some servo wires around i could make it
work? or swap the wiring harnesses to the sticks inside my tx? hmmm

Same here... I had to use the mixer to manually shuffle channels. Changing the
mode and channel assignment did not work. I suspect many people are getting
around this either using the mixer or swapping receiver wires...

Recent updates (around r800 onwards) have fixed the stick mode problem. When
changing stick modes, mixers remain correctly assigned.
