Import BIND config files

ubuntu-14.04.2-server-amd64 facilemanager-1.3.1 fmDNS-1.3.6

Hi There,

• we have dns using stealth master, and slave as public and registered domain. with facileManager it was eazy, but the setup is for new bind server, and not for existing named.conf. there's only zone import but not *.conf import
• how to add slave zone? regarding my issue, I can not add new zone as slave, because the zone was already exist. here my step:Zone|Forward Zone| + | Domain Name: existing.com | Zone Type: Slave: Define masters {blank} > save

right now, we only maintenance the master using facileManager but not the slave (auto transfer using additional option; allow-transfer {transfer_slave_ip}

need your enlightenment.

PS: the mod_rewrite and curl at ubuntu is not enable by default, needed at readme_how-to and transfer using ssh was not clear at how-to / help (not easy for this simple dns Manager :)

Thanks for the report.

• There currently is no import tool for server configuration files at this time. Actually, I hadn't thought of it before. I'll leave this open as a feature request.
• The master/slave relationship is horrible with fmDNS 1.3.x leaving zones managed by fmDNS to all be masters. This has been rewritten in 2.0 (based on #148) which introduces the concept of server groups so you can define master and slave servers. It's currently in RC stage if you'd like to try it out (http://www.facilemanager.com/download/?t=2) or you can wait until the official release.

I don't know if there is a better method, but I wanted to +1 this suggestion as it would cater to all users that a) know Bind configuration or b) already have Bind configuration. I wouldn't expect (many/any) users to have fM before named.
