If the user who installed WinMerge and the user who executes it are different, WinMerge will not be displayed in the Explorer context menu unless WinMerge is started once.
This is because the first time you start WinMerge, a registry key (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Thingamahoochie\WinMerge\ContextMenuEnabled
) is created to determine whether to display the WinMerge menu in the Explorer context menu.
Is it issue or feature that WinMerge doesn't appear to context menu until started once? Installed by system account. OS is Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC
