I recommend we have a series of input boxes that add an extra one as you type, so the user doesn't have to worry about typing AND and OR etc.

Also if we can have a name -> twitter account optional substitution that'd be cool. E.g. typing in "Wayne Rooney" recommends "Did you mean @WayneRooney?"

Good example of using tags as part of search and adding easily different search criteria

list of search criteria based on what's available on twitter's public api (https://dev.twitter.com/rest/public/search)

-by author -by mention -hashtags -arbitrary keywords -date... range, a week from X, since 2 days ago. Discuss what's the best -sensitivity see #14

@Winwardo interesting dilemna....

How flexible do we want searching to be for users:

  1. Do we want users to be able to distinguish if they're searching by author or mention or hashtags etc... ?

or

  1. Do we just want users to choose what they want to know about ie teams/players/matches etc...

or

  1. Both ?

I'm thinking 2 because if we integrate other sources of social media or data, the thing they'll have in common is the subject matter.. Thoughts ?
