Clarification of what this does please! #147

hi, I look forward to the day when someone builds a mirror of github, but written for non coders who need some of the great stuff on here! I don't actually know what this does, so I will ask...

I have an EdgeRouter 10x. It's new in box, never had the courage to try setting it up until now :D

I want to set up a VPN connection on it, NOT the one that comes built in, for remote working. I want to connect the router to a VPN service such as AirVPN, iVPN, PIA etc, so that all traffic from all devices in my home network go via the VPN.

Is that what this thing enables, via Wireguard? Or is this for accessing LAN remotely from other locations on the internet?

Wireguard can be used for both, it depends entirely on how it is configured. The stuff in this repository allows for Wireguard to be used on the Ubiquiti devices, like the EdgeRouter. So yes, if you install the correct package for your EdgeRouter 10X from the releases here, you can configure it such that it will route all of your traffic to a VPN service.
