yosemite4-n: consoles of slot5 ~ slot8 couldn't connect sometimes #10

[Status] Consoles of slot1~slot4 are normal but couldn't connect to consoles of slot5 ~ slot8 sometimes. Reboot BMC and the issue will be missing sometimes.

Firmware version:

BMC: Built with branch: yosemite4-n_developing_i3c_issue SD BIC: pldm_sd_i3c_2024_24_e2 Management Board CPLD version: 0x00040202 Spider Board CPLD version: 0x00030203 Sentinel Dome CPLD Slot 5 version: 0x00010206 Sentinel Dome CPLD Slot 6 version: 0x00010206 Sentinel Dome CPLD Slot 7 version: 0x00010206 Sentinel Dome CPLD Slot 8 version: 0x00010206

[Next] CPLD team help to check the issue.

Tested:

  1. Only plugged in slot 5 then did sled-cycle and could access BIC console.

    • Plugged in slot 6 ~ 8 at runtime and could access all the BIC console successfully.

  2. Plugged in slot 1 and slot 5 then did sled-cycle and could access slot 1 console but couldn't access slot 5 console.

  3. Plugged in slot 5~8 then did sled-cycle and could access slot 5 console but couldn't access the other slots console at first.

    • Slot 5 console would be a little lag and if I pressed enter in slot 5 console, BMC console would show several "ADC read failed" log.
    • After few seconds, the slot 5 console wouldn't be lag and didn't show "ADC read failed" when pressing enter. Could access the other slots' console at this time.

Next action:

  1. Update SD CPLD and MGM CPLD to the latest firmware.
  2. Record the SPI and UART signal for slot 5 console.

Tested: Test on another system and could get slot 5 console. Nuvoton also said that the console for slot 5 to slot 8 were normal on their system.
