What should happen:
Player controls supplied gryphon mount, gains vehicle control bar for collecting quest object villagers and depositing them in quest area.
What does happen:
Supplied gryphon is mountable, but no vehicle controls other than "Exit Vehicle". Also, gryphon scoots through air independent of player control (taxis out to quest object area, then back to quest origin area, repeating) and with incorrect animation (uses the "sitting" animation).
I used the "Exit Vehicle" control to drop off mount from a survivable height, re-summoned in the field using supplied whistle (https://www.wowhead.com/item=37287/wintergarde-gryphon-whistle), and remounted gryphon now had proper controls and quest was completable normally.
Note:
Supplied gryphon also seems to have incorrect speed. One of the vehicle controls is a "Soar" button which boosts speed, and seems to be working correctly. However at all other times, mount appears to travel about the speed of a 60% ground mount (estimated) - very slow.
