For time-being, use this manager as conflict detector-only is viable solution.
Mod not registering: as already discussed at #40, mod using version="2.X." instead of
_supportedversion="2.X." cannot be detected by this manager. manually adding supported_version="2.5.*" will resolve it.
After WinMerge, search *.bak to delete them all. Because the game engine has no logic to ignore those backup files, any .bak file remain can cause worse conflict.
Just FYI, the version="2.X" is something used by Paradox Mods, and not the game itself.
It's related to the version number for the mod itself, and not the actual game version.
Plz note that this manager is seriously outdated.

Mod manager feature: use vanilla launcher v2 or Kilroy Mk 2 https://www.reddit.com/r/Stellaris/comments/eofohn/kilroy_mod_manager_mk2_importexport_load_order/ Edit: Paradoxos Mod Manager https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/tool-paradoxos-mod-manager.1001303/
Merge: WinMerge https://www.google.com/search?q=how+to+use+WinMerge
Merge Tip: Using 3-file compare with vanilla file and merge manually with rule "anything disagree with vanilla wins" can be useful to resolve 2-mod conflicts. https://imgur.com/a/zNb7IvO https://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/discussion/1419304439/1742265551910220564/
