5 years ago I was thinking the same today. Something like "Unitary absolutist path", "Federal path/Trialism", "Status Quo or more autonomy" and the democratic path that disgregates the empire.
A suggestion to restructure the political branch of the Austria-Hungary tree. Currently the only alternatives are an, extremely anti-historical, "fascistization"of the empire, I presume based on Pangermanist ideas, with the abolition of all the rights and autonomiy of national minorities of the empire, in favor of a germanocentric centralization, that in reality it could not have been realized except at the price of an immense blood bath, given the obvious revolt of all the other national components of the empire, as faithful and loyal to the monarchy; the other current alternative is a kind of "federalization" that, in fact, has much the appearance of a collapse of the empire, since the creation of satellite puppet states is not at all representative of a state that, although confederal, is still only one and united.
I suggest that the branch be restructured by maintaining the national-fascist hypothesis and split in two the second, an option that involves the dissolution of the empire and the creation of several independent states, as even joined in some way (an own faction or satellites of Austria), and in this scenario it can take both political directions , democratic republican or socialist, and an option that envisages a evolution in the form of unitary state as appearance, but federal and multiethnic in the description of the effects, which can be either monarchic than republican, but that always leads to one state called the United States of Great Austria or something like that.
