I want to only use normal flint for the editor, and we have Executable Items that are also flint, and cannot be used since ASE overrides them.

Would it be possible to have a setting to turn off activating if the item is and executable item or perhaps also a setting that just allows for your to only use the default item. That could look something like this: onlyusevanillaitem: true
