Cannot see different color fireballs on Smash 64

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Get luigi and mario
2. Shoot your fireball with one of them.
3. The next one who shoots the fireball will be same color as his brother.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Should be green and red fireballs, however it stays the same color for both 
luigi and mario.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
The latest one, on Windows XP.

Please provide any additional information below.
