I found it possible to adjust your process to get Dropbox working with Steam. For me it was located in the following place: /home/[[USER NAME]]/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/227320/pfx

I ran your script, but then I also had to move the Application Data into users steamuser as opposed to [[USER NAME]]. An option for Steam people would be great in the script..

What lives in .local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/227320/pfx? Does Steam install Dropbox there? Or is that a Wine location that Steam sets up?

Either way I'm not sure messing with the Steam install is a great idea. It might break things. I haven't installed Steam on Linux yet and I haven't actually used YNAB 4 in a couple years so I'm not sure I'll get around to testing this, but my gut instinct is that this is likely to be a brittle solution.

Well, at least this issue will give people an idea where to go.

What do you use these days for budgets?

I might try to figure out how to do this... but I don’t know the language. If you want to use me to create a beta option for Linux steam users... I’m open to helping give you environment info

Hi, you might extract your Ynab Key from a working installation so you can use a "normal" YNAB 4 installation plus the default dropbox installation for your linux distribution.

Can I use my Steam purchased license on my other computer?

Yes! You can retrieve your key by way of Help>About>Copy Activation Key to Clipboard in the YNAB menu of your Steam purchased copy to then use on your other installation.
