Happened to me too I don't know what's going on.

WWHardin commented 2 years ago

I know, can't seem to find any support from the wonderland team or find a trustworthy crypto expert to help out. Serves us right for trying to make money eh.

naxpl commented 2 years ago

Do you know how to get back the TIME I sent to the Wonderland contract adress by error? How can we contact with Wonderland support team? Thanks

WWHardin commented 2 years ago

I don’t know who to contact, I think those tokens are burned honestly. It sucks

The real problem is you've provided absolutely nothing to investigate, and you're asking unpaid volunteers to investigate your issue. But what info have you provided? That your smartphone is an Acer Chromebook?

.....fine, I'll bite.

Hi @WWHardin ! When you send money, it's done via a transaction, which you can see in your wallet, eg meta mask:

  1. Metamask
  2. Activity
  3. Find the line that shows the tokens being sent, and click it
  4. Click on "View on block explorer"
  5. Share that link here.

Note: this obviously needed information could have been provided 7 days ago.

WWHardin commented 2 years ago

Listen, as you can tell I am a rookie at this completely and am not proud of it but I am trying to learn.

I can provide my wallet address as well as snowtrace logs but other than that I have nothing to provide.

I truly have no problem owning up to the fact that I made a mistake and after much research I believe those tokens to be burned.

All I was asking was if someone might have gone through this experience before or if there was even a possibility to get them back. I am working on learning as quickly as possible but again I am very green, any and all advice is welcomed as I start my journey.

Looking at the first tx: https://snowtrace.io/tx/0xeba0eeecb39a1d4b98f32d5a8702127343b49fc5788b37eb0f9f1535b516260e

This is a transfer - how did you create this transaction? It looks like tokens where simply sent to a contract, instead of executing the stake function.

Going through your address, I see a couple of correct staking transactions which are older than the one you linked: https://snowtrace.io/tx/0xf6ce8c42fb693883f3c8cc7c405c6962cb5e26aaff7e4bd7e95cd05bc8a13236 https://snowtrace.io/tx/0xba55c16bcc91fd92fa85a23768e4d2384cb3c785d183ab85c7e7563cda75771e

So: how did you execute the linked transaction - not via the web interface, right? Did you manually send the tokens to the address?

As far as I understand the ERC20 specs, there's no way to get these back even if you owned the contract, see https://ethereum.stackexchange.com/questions/34559/i-accidentally-sent-a-token-to-a-token-contract-can-i-get-it-back

WWHardin commented 2 years ago

Alex, Thanks for looking into this. Here is what happened.

I correctly staked my Time tokens one time, then got confused between my MetaMask Mobile / Browser extension and panicked when I didn't see the time tokens (not knowing or understanding that they turned into Memo). I saw the memo in my Wallet and got confused and "transferred" to what I thought (stupidly) was my own Wonderland address. Turns out now that I am more educated that I was sending them to the contract address which I know now probably burned my assets.

Stupidly, I thought I was correct so I put more money in and send additional Time Tokens to that same contract address.

After a lot of research and going through my transactions I realized my mistake and ultimately now understand that by sending that memo and the additional Time Tokens to the contract that they are most likely burned and I have no way of getting them back.

I am well aware it was my mistake but since the original post I was just curious if there is any possibility of getting these back from the contract administration but I know it is a long shot.

Now that I understand the process I have successfully staked additional Time but I was just curious if there was any way of recovering the originals.

I know I was the idiot, I know its a longshot.

Thanks for your help, I honestly appreciate all the knowledge I have gained in a short period of time from the help and advice of people like you!

Of course, and I'm sorry for your loss.

Having done something similar, try not to consider it a loss, but the price of learning / experience.

WWHardin commented 2 years ago

Agreed, onwards and updwards!

Thanks again, happy new year!
