Just for my information, what does this system do? Is it for appearances?

It manages inventory and items attached to slots, i.e. active items like currently used weapon, armor/clothing, cyberware. Many functions from https://nativedb.red4ext.com/gameTransactionSystem are backed by vfuncs.
