[HelpHub] Feedback on Assign custom fields #792

Open zzap opened 1 year ago

zzap commented 1 year ago

Issue Description

Originally reported by https://profiles.wordpress.org/atkulp/

This is not correct with WordPress 6.2. First of all, the triple-dot menu on the block editor page has renamed the last item from Options to Preferences. Once in Preferences, there is a section for General, Blocks, and Panels and none of them contain anything related to custom fields. Is this possibly due to a plugin (e.g. ACF) hiding it or did it just change?

Also, there's info here that's too technical for the end-user (the whole section on displaying custom fields - requires a developer).

Why is this a problem?

Suggested Fix

Clearly state that this is for the Classic editor. Remove technical parts for developers.

Heads up @femkreations @atachibana - the "user documentation" label was applied to this issue.
