WordPress is turning 20!

UPDATE:

On April 3, WP.Org social shared this message from Josepha https://twitter.com/WordPress/status/1643022717614997506 with the Call to Action to share happy birthday messages directly to social media, using the hashtag WP20.

Based on this change, I'm updating this ticket.

The new ask:

  1. Create shortform video messages wishing WordPress a happy birthday and sharing your favorite reflections from the last two decades of TW.
  2. Share you post directly to your social channel of choice, using the hashtag WP20.

Support need:

We could use help sharing this ask around the community, and encouraging folks to share their happy birthday social posts. Is there a contributor that can help share the word around the Make community?

Create shortform videos of 15 seconds or less of contributors wishing WordPress a happy 20th birthday! These will be used for TikTok, Instagram and other video platforms as we get closer to the celebration.

Step 1: Record

  1. Find contributors who are willing to record a happy birthday message for WordPress IN ANY LANGUAGE (the more languages the better)
  2. Record the clip
  3. Get the contributors name and WordPress.org ID

Friendly reminder: WordPress is an inclusive community! Remember to document a wide range of ethnicities, abilities, body types, ages, gender representations, etc.

Step 2: Upload

Upload your videos to the Shortform Video Content folder here:

Step 3: Log the Video

Log your video in the WP 20th Birthday - Happy Birthday Wordpress Shortform Video Content List

  1. Filename
  2. Your WordPress.org ID
  3. Name and WP ID of the contributor in the video
  4. The language
  5. Video length
