Mobile app promotion campaign #204

Potential parts of the campaign are:

  1. Social media campaign - promotional materials, ready to use texts and visuals to post and share
  2. PowerPoint presentation for Meetups to translate and present to their own audience. WordPress Portsmouth Online Meetup – 20th July 2022 – WordPress Mobile Apps can be taken as a template for everyone (with the creator's consent and reference, we need to respect people who are creating the content in any cases).
  3. Piece about Mobile App and how to use it for WP News + call to translate it for Polyglots Team
  4. Showcases and interviews with users who are actually working with sites through mobile app on a go
  5. Piece for Make about future plans of Mobile team for better visibility and to attract new contributors + its social media amplification

Previous discussion about potential promotional campaign for Mobile app is in ticket https://github.com/WordPress/Marketing-Team/issues/93.

If you have other ideas or want to take a part in this project, please comment and attend regular Marketing metings in Slack for futher collaboration.

I'm very interested!

I've been using mobile app and just a mobile device to build sites for over 5 years.

Anything that would support this effort, I'm all in on. 🙌

With recent developments, it becomes more urgent to provide information to existing users of mobile apps, as well as to raise awareness about mobile apps in general.

I created a Draft for the WordPress News. All what is written so far can be questioned or reworked, so all suggestions are welcome.

Goals of the news:

Refocusing the WordPress App on Core Features Switch to the New Jetpack Mobile App New Mobile Support Forum

Do you have a deadline in mind for when you'd like to receive feedback by? I'm aiming to take a look next week, but just want to be mindful about whether you plan to publish sooner. cc-ing @WordPress/native-mobile, too.

@SiobhyB thank you for your input, and please forgive me for not answering sooner. Deadline is ASAP, which is not realistic, but I don't see any blockers for it either, so, as soon as the content will be ready, it can be published.

We need a part of the article about why do we need and will love to use Mobile app and some images, and it will be most valuable to get them from Mobile application users. They know Mobile app advantages and can convey them as no one else can.

@OlaIola, thanks for the reply! I think you've seen by now that I went ahead to leave feedback on your draft during the week starting the 17th April, as promised. :)

Just so I'm clear, is this something you're planning to add to the article or are you looking for a volunteer to write this part? I don't think I'll personally have the bandwidth to volunteer for this in the coming weeks, but am happy to continuing offering feedback on the draft.
