Questions:

  1. Who is this page for? Developers or non-developers or both?

Thoughts:

  1. The "Create Blocks" CTA seems to be for developers, so should it read "Develop Blocks", instead? Or, perhaps, add headers over the buttons "For Developers" and "For Non-Developers"?
  2. If this page is not for developers, the CTAs need to be revisited.
  3. The icon section could be linked to examples of the respective blocks.
  4. "WordPress’ secret power" doesn't make sense with the block of text next to it. Perhaps the header should be something along the lines of "Easier than you think".
  5. Should "Learn how to edit a block and you learn how to use all of WordPress—without having to write code" be linked to something? I think this section needs a CTA. Link to a video walk-through.
  6. The Create Your Own section should have a the same "Develop Blocks" CTA as the top section or have some developer self-identification text.
  7. Is the "Only the beginning" section missing a picture/illustration/animation on the left? Is this an on-purpose, asymmetrical design? It feels like it's missing something based on the design of the other blocks on the page.
  8. I'd add a header before the final links like "Dive Deeper" or something along those lines. And I'd organize the links according to developer-focused ones or design-focused ones.
  9. I'd also be curious to know if the users of this page are looking for a comparison to how Blocks are similar or different from modules that other visual builders, like Divi or Elementor, use. For example, Divi's modules/content elements page lists all the available modules with a short text blurb to describe it and an image hover for an example (not that I'm a fan of image hovers, but I am a fan of showing examples). I think this Blocks page needs more detail.
  10. I don't understand the difference between a Block and a Block Pattern/Pattern. I think that needs to be explained on the page.

Who's the audience for this page? Everyone with an idea to create a website? Or WP community members getting acquainted with Blocks concept? For either I believe the display of information is quite inconsistent. Hero section of the page need to make a visitor understand where she's at within first 5s. Meaning the headline and hero image need to speak straight to the point. Something like Blocks are components used for creating and editing elements in a WordPress post or page. Hero image need to present either interface or some visual explanation how the blocks work. The hero part is missing CTA. Closest to CTA now is "publish" button, but its only imitation on image. If you check with heat map I presume you will probably see people clicking on it from time to time. A clickable CTA is a must in Hero image. Scrolling through the page I don't feel there's a well defined structure/flow of information what this landing page aims to explain. No step by step info displayed. It would be great to add testimonial section, portraying clients that already used blocks for their websites. This will make blocks look usable and validated. We should start landing page creation with a brief where target audience is described, the main goal of the page (subscription, conversion etc.) are set, the storyline in bullet points is executed. Knowing the goal of the page will help to build its structure and content.

Who is the audience for the Blocks page? It needs to be clarified. If I am an average WordPress user or new to WordPress and landing on this page, I would find the information very confusing.

Is it implied that the visitor already knows what Blocks/Block components are? I think that the initial messaging should better define what blocks are and why they are useful.

There is a lot of emphasis on "no code" then when they click on the outbound links, they go to pages (for example, the Gutenberg page or Create Blocks page) that are developer-focused.

What are block patterns? There is a button taking visitors to the block patterns page before explaining what they are or why they might be beneficial.

I would move this messaging up towards the top of the page to better explain what blocks are as soon as you land on the page "Blocks are the visual foundation of WordPress, and can be used to create and manage every part of your site. They're also easier than you think. Learn how to edit a block and you learn how to use all of WordPress—without having to write code."

The "Try Blocks Live" button links over to the Gutenberg page...this is also confusing as I would assume most visitors wouldn't know what Gutenberg is when clicking over.

It would be nice to divide the page into two (?) audiences, one area specifically for the developers that focuses on creating your own blocks and content that would be targeted towards them, then one for "general" user who would be more likely to use the blocks functionality as is that doesn't overwhelm them. Perhaps a Blocks landing page that then drives the different audiences to a more specific page with detailed information would be more appropriate.

Would like to see some example sites that have used blocks on the page to see what can be accomplished with them.

I see the "block types" but maybe there should be a description or visual of what these are or how they can be used in the context of building a page or site.
