@murillol assigned @dugyen to this card

These are the next actions on this from the notes on these onboarding video tasks which I am copying into this card. Is there anything else?:

With Training, documentation on video and screenshots have also been produced for Learn WordPress materials, which have been shared with contributors making local translation versions of the video.

For the Dzongkha (Bhutan) video, comment from Mark Smallman from 23 March 2022 gives next step for local speaker and video merging: Anyone familiar with the language 'Dzongkha' (Bhutan) that can assist @Ugyen in putting together the on-boarding video for Slack? The transcript & Audio files are all prepared, but I think it would take someone familiar with the language to assist matching everything together.

@abhansnuk : @macgraphic and thanks for looking at this. I've gone back through the notes on this from Olga. She had said it would need someone from the locale to help him with the transcript and audio merge as it is very difficult to do this by someone unfamiliar with the language. She was able to do this with the languages she had greater familiarity with. @Ugyen could you put a call out in your locale perhaps to help match them together? It needs a native or fluent speaker for most of the languages that are merged. Thanks so much.

hi @dugyen, from what @nalininsbs has kindly summarised, it looks like the next step here is to put out a call out in your Locale:

dugyen commented 2 years ago

@murillol @nalininsbs both transcript and voice over done by our locale manager Dzongkha. I am currently working on putting them all together.

Hello @dugyen , how are things going on this? No rush. Do you think this might be ready a few weeks before WordCamp Asia? Thank you.

nalininsbs commented 2 years ago

@dugyen has shared on Slack that this is in progress. It is hoped it will be ready before WordCamp Asia 2023. Thank you.

Update - I have added a milestone date to allow for time for any final checks and updating onto the sites before WordCamp Asia. @dugyen could we aim for this to be finished, cleared by your GTE, subtitled, and ready to move on for publishing by 12 January 2023 at the latest? This should give you the extra few weeks to finish up working on this. Thank you.

Promoted at meetings 7 & 14 September 2022 for anyone who is able to support Ugyen on this.

abhansnuk commented 1 year ago

Hi @dugyen how are you getting on with this? Just checking in case you needed a hand.

nalininsbs commented 1 year ago

@abhansnuk could you add from the other cards an update on these videos in general to assist the 2023 marketing team reps? Thank you.

abhansnuk commented 1 year ago

For context for the 2023 team reps, this is the last video in the current cycle of the onboarding Slack help videos translated into other languages. The wider issue has moved on as there have been changes to the Slack onboarding process. There are also changes in polyglot translation tools and flow which affect this.

Once @dugyen has this video checked and ready to upload, in time for WordCamp Asia, it will need to be added to YouTube and then added to the Learn WordPress page. @meherbala , Hauwa and I can help with this as can a few others.

Once the discussions on other translations and the new polyglot tools are ready, the existing YouTube videos were to be moved to WordPress.TV, and the links updated on the Learn WordPress site. This migration work was paused initially due to the tools change, and again as two locales started work on new translations of the Slack onboarding videos.

For this ticket, we are working with polyglots and Learn WordPress, who are the owners of this area going forward. Marketing team members now assists with providing proofing for the text in English language, and with the technical part to complete the migration. Moving this card therefore to the column for working with other teams.
