[Feature] Sort images + rearrange in Gallery Block #24578

There is a missing feature that was present in classic editor that is sorting imagens by file name. I am a photographer and depending how images are uploaded into server they might be out of order, that's why sorting by file is needed. Something is around 50+ photos per post and it is a pain/undoable by hand.

Another nice feature would be about rearrange, being able to select with shift/ctrl pressed and then drag photos to a custom order. Would be much easier than doing it one by one.

@carlosferrari Thanks for sharing this insight as a photographer! By chance, are you referring to this screen and option to filter in the screenshot below?

Hi @annezazu In fact it's another option (attached), when editing the gallery there's an option to invert order, that's missing from the new blocks, and would be nice to have the option to sort by file name as well.

And another thing, I just noticed the edit gallery option when inside the blocks is buried at the bottom of the gallery block (go to bottom the block > media gallery > edit gallery), in the classic it stays at the top with the pencil leading to edit it directly, which makes it easy to spot.

I see one problem too. Once one image in gallery is marked for editing and options to upload, media library etc are visible, there is no way to get out of this view. I believed clicking X will lead me back to image view but not, image is deleted from gallery. It is somehow bad implementation. Second problem is this white view of what to do with marked image is not possible to click inside once User clicked on some other image in gallery.

Just noting I was trying to help someone edit their gallery order today, and almost filed a feature request because I couldn't find the setting. (That's how I found this issue.) Can we make the edit gallery more easily discoverable... perhaps in the gallery block's toolbar?

I think it would also be very nice to be able to sort images in a gallery by date (from the exif)

I have over 600 photos and would like to reverse the order.
