Summary

Create a method for grouping sources and making it easy to narrow searches to a particular group of sources.

Background

This project comes out of the necessity for flexibility in the way the sources are classified. Currently, those classifications are hardcoded in the frontend, see more technical details in #753. Given the many areas this edition entails, we can take advantage of including more fields if needed.

Ah, I just wrote #4786 but it is essentially a specific implementation of the metadata described here.

I'll keep it open for now, but perhaps these ideas would be merged in the future.
