Create a report tool/page for WordPress.tv #825

Is it possible to create a report page to download data about WordPress tv and the video uploaded?

Fields needed: Event Speakers Tags Language Upload date

WP tv link: https://wordpress.tv/

Please let me know if you need further information on my end.

I think currently, there's no way for WordCamp.org and WordPress.tv to talk to each other in a way that they'd know which sessions are uploaded and which are not.

@peiraisotta Can you elaborate on what use this report would be? That would help determine if there's something we can do.

There's also #944 which might be related.

I'm asking if we can have a report tool on the WP tv website to download the info mentioned above. Is this something possible for us to create? Thanks!

Hi @peiraisotta,

We could definitely build a export tool for WPTV, that should ideally be tracked as an enhancement against wptv though rather than WordCamp: https://meta.trac.wordpress.org/newticket?component=WordPress.tv

Some extra context on why it's needed would be appreciated; as well as how the export should be queried (ie. every video ever? Specific event? etc)

Hello @dd32,

At the moment, we have needed these numbers once per year for the WPF board meeting to double checks, for example, how many introductions to open source we've had, but we could start analizying more stats if we had this chance. For example, if we can download the info of all videos uploaded including their categories/tags, we would be able to know every year what topics were the most presented, what people are more interested in learning and we could anticipate what type of events they might be more interested in attending.

Interesting! I wasn't aware of that :)

This still isn't the proper place for such a request though, and is probably a low-priority task for wptv (IMHO)

I'm not sure if WordPress.com has any toolings around exporting (or if it would even work for this) but might be worth having a peak through https://wptv.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ for any related functionality.

Adding this for future references: it would be fantastic to track the number of views for each video uploaded.
