I'm opening this pull request to discuss if we should remove the logic to update the database periodically. The main reasons for that are:
The live demo database already has a bunch of movies. Those could be considered enough for the purpose of that site.
The XML files included in this repo should be enough for testing locally. And I don't think anyone was using the DB update logic locally (it requires a TMDB key).
It simplifies the code of this repo, which helps to understand the WordPress APIs being used, which serve as an example.
When this plugin was created, that logic was used to populate the database with movies from TMDB, and it has a cron event to include the new movies submitted there. The main goal of that was to have a good testing site. However, the current theme and plugin list the movies ordered by rating, so we are always showing the same movies. If we can include a new movie for any reason, we can always do it manually.
