Just to add that I have repeated the exact same flightplan in the same plane with the same conditions today and exactly the same happened. Many hours into the flight the fps dropped way down from 45ish to just 10-20.
I again hit the G3000 button to remove the split screen and almost immediately the fps went back up to 45ish. I then pressed the button again to go to split screen MFD again and the fps stayed at mid 40s.
So this is repeatable.
I should also have said in the first report that the only mods I have in the sim at present for these tests are the TBM mods and the WT mod.
I have the same issues with the Longtitude and g3000 version 6.2 but only in Europe. In both North and South America I don't have any fps problems. Haven't tried other continents yet.
I don't have any problems with g3000 5.1 in Europe on the same routes in Ultra settings, high ground traffic and multiplayer.
Interestingly, and possibly significantly, I have recently had this update installed on my PC. Since that time, I have completed two multi hour flight on the same route I used above, and now with the update, I have had no fps problems.
Not conclusive, but notable.
Firstly, performance is much improved with 0.6.2 over 0.6.0/0.6.1, which was dreadful here.
But problems still continue during long flights. I completed a 7 hour flight yesterday in the TBM930 without problems.
But over the last 24 hours I was doing a very long 'ferry' flight where I kept the plane in the air for 18 hours (refilling tanks for the purpose of this test). Everything was fine for around 12 hours, after which I get a sudden FPS reduction from the typical 40-50fps to 9-14fps, and it was more stuttery than even those frame rates would suggest.
I tried a few things to coax it back into full speed to no avail.
At the time I was using a split screen MFD with map on left and weather on right. I clicked the MFD button to put the MFD back to single screen mode, and instantly the FPS was back to 40+. And it remained there for another 6ish hours of flight with no further problems at all, even though I continued to use MFD split screen thereafter, including Navigraph charts towards the end of the flight.
I took screen grabs of my TaskMan during the bad phase and after the recovery. These are attached to this post. Hopes this helps you to find out what is going on.
You will notice that during the bad phase, the CPU and GPU are much underutilsed compared with the normal phase, and also that during the bad phase, both CPU and GPU are 'pulsing' badly and predictably.
Thanks for all the great work you are doing. We all very much appreciate it.
