I have commented on this bug previously and would request a work around of just resetting the G1000 completely possibly with some hidden clickspot or something. Power cycling does not reset anything as that would be the logical solution. Just a thought. Thanks.
I also had this happen just now / G1000. What happened:
I was doing a full IFR night flight with a standard low alt IFR FPL and halfway through, I hit the FPL on the MFD and both the PFD and MFD froze with no instrument readouts that changed - they were frozen at the moment I hit FPL on the MFD. The attitude indication portion of the PFD worked, however all text on the PFD was also frozen.
The only items that worked on the PFD were Menu and Alerts. No FMS scrolling worked, no selection worked. The MFD would pull up PROC, but no other menu functions, and no FMS scrolling or selection.
I did an avionics reset and tried to do "in-sim" troubleshooting, but just ended up doing an emergency landing instead (gave me practice with the backup instruments anyway).
Sometimes (very often) when I am creating a FP using the garmin inside the sim (inside the plane, both before departure or in mid flight), if I try to add a new waypoint or modify an existing one, the screen of the garmin freezes. Usually the copilot one (where the map is) and all the buttons became unusuable. Some other times, even the AP became unusuable and sometimes, even the game crashes to desktop. It happened at least once when I was broadcasting the flight:
In this video you can see it happening in the moment 2:19:54
