Stage of development #11

Hi, I just wondering on which stage the development is right now? Is it still being developed? Can I use it in the current state?

Ymaril commented 3 years ago

I find this design very important for the future of minecraft. As far as I understand, you cannot vertically scale a Java server infinitely. The ability to scale out allows you to guarantee server availability and speed in all cases.

I'm not sure if the architecture in mammoth is the most optimal. But this is the only development that provides the possibility of horizontal scaling of a minecraft server that I could find. If you know any other projects, I will be grateful if you let me know.

Working on a roadmap, will close this issue once it’s published.

This is amazing, and very needed in the gaming world. Imagine Valheim with this backend.

Looking forward to your roadmap and record attempt. Id be interested if this ever supported forge or fabric

walksanatora commented 3 years ago

main problem with forge/fabric support is all of the possible interactions between blocks although once it is released I will try some mods to see how well they work via magma because it may work better than expected and with low expectations comes the chance for them to be blown out of the water

Yes, please consider minecraft server with mods.
