I believe this has something to do with the auto-updater, but really not sure this can be solved without me shelling out some money to get the binaries signed.
I have panda antivirus v16.0.2 (latest at time of posting) and it detects slimcat.exe as a suspicious file, and removes it automatically, quarantining it and not allowing users to execute the file. Thought it might be worth looking into this as other malware detectors might be wrongly detecting slimcat.
