What did you use to model and animate the Shuppet?

Wunkolo commented 2 years ago

I used 3DS Max and a bit of my own custom-made Adobe After Effects plugins to help with the crisp pixel stylization!

Do you have a guide on how you created the Shuppet exactly, would be interested in the exact process since I would like to render some animated Pokemons with 3Ds Max aswell but im not that expierienced with animations. I have the 3d models and textures but I could not get the eyes to display or animate? :)

I don't do much 3d art these days, but I do have some breadcrumbs you can follow of my process over here! I used the Ink 'n Paint material in particular.

I have these files from this repo but when i import the fbx directly into 3ds max it wont have the eye animation, couly you give me a tipp, how you achieved this? :) Ty for saying what Material you used but i planned to use the Cartoon Material from 3Ds Max Arnold, never used it but seems like a good project to play around with this ;) https://github.com/PokeMiners/pogo_assets/tree/master/3D%20Assets/Pokemon/pm0001_00_Rig

I made my Shuppet mesh and textures from scratch and animated the eyes in Adobe After effects and exported it as an image sequence and used the Ink 'n Paint material with the scanline renderer in 3ds max! tumblr_inline_osc7ayopD21qb9x1g_400

I didn't use ripped game assets so I can't really help you there.

No, I wanted to remodel the mesh myself, but I wanted to start with the original to have a base shape for reference. I want to make PBR versions of the Pokemons later, but that will take forever for sure. Thanks for the tip, I will probably do it the same way to not use original assets so I have full copyright for sure. One more thing that would interest me is how I can make a similar tutorial page with comments, this looks exactly what I was looking for? Thanks for the info :)

Ah do you mean the comment section on my blog? I use utterances! They are built on top of GitHub "issues".
