SAMDL Suggestions/Enhancements #31

With a lot of the recent updates to the tools, I have some suggestions regarding SAMDL directly.

Camera Sensitivity

This has been an issue ever since the updates started rolling in. The camera is extremely sensitive, and we don't have a way to turn the sensitivity down as of right now. I really think we could use a slider for it and decrease the normal values. The issues are most noticeable when "dragging" and "zooming." Very small movements equate to huge movements from the camera.

Animation Labels/Filenames

I'm not sure why or how this ended up getting removed, but we can no longer view the name of the animation file being displayed. It would display in the window's bar at the top. I would like to see this return either in that way or potentially having it display somewhere in the editor itself. Whichever is easier would honestly be fine.

Node Ordering

Okay, so this feature it probably a little off from happening, but it would be nice to occur. The hope is that we can eventually reorder or add new nodes to models, both siblings and children. Obviously using in-game stuff, this will break some things. But this is necessary for users to start making more custom objects for levels, etc. This ties into the File>New as well since all we can do is create a single node object currently.

Access from Project Manager

This is more of an inconvenience to my work flow than anything else, so it can honestly be ignored for the most part. While the new Project Manager tool is a great way to navigate the tools, I am constantly finding myself needing to open a project to just access SAMDL through it. Sure, I could open it via the exe, but I have been working directly from Project Manager ever since it was added. And since my recent projects have been coming from working with SA1 assets, I keep needing to use SAMDL regularly. On top of this, SAMDL is used for both Adventure games. I suggest maybe making it so you can open at least SAMDL from a tools menu on the home page of the Project Manager. Again though, this is simply an inconvenience for myself, and less of a major issue with the tool.

I'll be sure to update this post with more suggestions I think of as time goes on.

With all the recent changes to the program and the upcoming change to Project Manager, I'm considering this issue resolved and closed.
