be careful with the word ‘standard’ – it has specific meanings in gov and people get VERY UPSET if you use it casually. Which is why WDS recently changed from ‘design standard’ to ‘design system’

Just adding some color, "standard" for some is like the word "policy" - which for some connotes a formal sign-off process with an output that can be used in oversight.

Relatedly, the repository (and thus the URL) are Data Design Standards, but the web page says the Data Visualization Standards, and it's really bugging me 😅 At the very least, need to be consistent.
