After lots of distractions by my dayjob and vacation/hibernation I got around 
to work
on the changes.

trunk now contains a working implementation for polling and long-polling 
changes. 

There is an implementation for continuous changes, too, but it doesn't work 
yet. I
guess I'm doing something wrong with httpclient-4.x or so. Have to investigate.

Finally got around to work on continuous changes. Turns out I was just stupid 
and it
seems to work just fine now. (after r241).
