XMLTV doesn't start at all.

XMLTV Version? 1.1.2

Operating System?

-Windows 10 home (64)

What happened?

• I've downloaded the latest version and tried to start the app but got a window with a message that says " It might take a while before the first start" After two minutes window would close by itself and nothing would happen for 2 hours now.

What did you expect to happen?

-To be able to open it for the start.

Did you see any warnings?

-Just the message I've mentioned before.

Basically:

• find an appropriate grabber for your needs (initial set-up)
• configure the grabber (initial set-up)
• download data (schedule to repeat as required to obtain further EPG data)

Also note:

tried to start the app

This is not an app: there is no gui. It is a commandline tool.

I believe apps are available which are built on XMLTV, but that is beyond the scope of this project.

OK thanks for the note. Sorry, I'm completely new to this thought this was an app. I will check it out and see if I could manage to create something out of this.

as others have said.. you need to run "command prompt" (cmd.exe) from windows first to get a command line. cd \path\to\where\you\installed xmltv.exe --configure
