This is a problem because there are no Leopard drivers yet for KisMAC and the
main devs have quit working on
the project due to laws in Germany. I'm not sure we can even expect anymore
updates for KisMAC.

Adrian and Isaac:
You both should look at the official web site at http://kismac-ng.org/ and the
wiki
there. The project may be moving slowly, but is far from dead.
Also, give the trunk build of r241 here a try.

Tested r241 (trunk) on a MacBook here, doesn't work. Same symptoms as described
above.

i downloaded r241 from: http://kismac.tehbin.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=326 and am
still having the same issue. the thread there goes on to discuss that passive
mode is
still broke in r241 but i figured i'd test myself. i'm about to compile and
build
from trunk and see if that works.

building from trunk fixes the issue

Is there any updates for leopard yet? Is there anyone still working one this
app?

kfitzgerald,
your build from trunk, did it fix passive? Mine still doesn't. I build from the
latest, r242 on 10.5.1 and the passive no longer crashes when it loads the
driver, it
just does nothing but scan and scan...
What luck did you have?
Thanks

I've had no success with my build (about a week ago) as well. iStumbler seems
to be the only "alternative" but it's
not even close to the same kind of utility for security testing purposes.

I just compiled KisMAC 0.21a (248), but unfortunately I'm having still the same
issues.
Are there any news on this?
I'm a pretty new Mac OX user, so may I ask where adrian got console.log from?
Thanks,

Alrighty, for all of you noobitos out there :>
1. Have the latest and greatest OS of all time > Mac OS 10.5.2
2. Download the latest Kismac from the "Download" tab
3. After installing, set the passive mode driver for airport extreme
4. Restart
5. In the Advanced pref. tab set the "pbf device" as "en1"
6. Alrighty, stick a fork in it, it's done!
Kismac passive mode running flawlessly on Leopard!
MacBook, Atheros Chipset, build 241

O btw, just incase you use an 3rd party wireless card etc, open up the terminal
and use the command "ifconfig"
to find out what interface your mac uses for that device. Just take it and it
put that in the device box. (to use the
command just type it in and hit enter)

I can't still gather anything.
It seems like the passive mode is working - Well, that's what the message said,
but I never get a packet while I'm scanning.
I made an OS update today. Now my OS version is 10.5.3
Kismet subversion: 249; self compiled
Chipset: Atheros 54xx
Btw: I have also checked build 241 - it is not working for me.
Any ideas?

Build 278 on a 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (Mac OS X 10.5.4) works properly if in
advanced setting "en1" is setted and in the driver tab the only card added to
the
list is "Apple Airport Extreme Card, pasive mode". Sound effects disabled.

What is really interesting about this issue is that the old kismac from my OSX
Tiger
worked perfectly with Leopard after I installed it from my backup. Then, I
decided
to trash my system and do a fresh install of Leopard - I downloaded Kismac and
the
rest is history. Why did the old kismac work great? Any ideas ... I don't
think the
problem is with Airport drivers. Any ideas?

I was excited beyond belief when this worked, and it only worked once. It saw
a few
networks in my area and I could connect, then it never worked again. Is this
common?
