Genuinely a really good recommendation, and it's actually one I've been trialling myself!
Fully agree with the recommendations, it's the same reason I personally use ActivityWatch. I'll get this added soon!
Resource Name
Super Productivity by johannesjo
Resource Type
Free and open source time tracker/to-do list with multi-device synchronisation
Resource Description
(Copied from super-productivity's own README.md)
Resource URL
johannesjo/super-productivity
Additional Information
Being 100% FOSS, development and bug fixes tend to be slower than can be expected when compared to commercial/freemium solutions.
Why do you recommend it?
I've been using it for almost 2 years now and it has helped me achieve my 3 best semesters in Uni. First, by virtue of being a to-do list. Secondly, by allowing me to have an actual idea of how much time I spent distracted when I was trying to study (by comparing the time spent in each task with what was tracked by ActivityWatch, I could estimate much more accurately how much time I was actually studying compared to how long I thought I was studying. It was not pretty). Moreover, as someone who cares about online privacy, owning my data and being able to sync across my devices with Syncthing or my self-hosted WebDAV server, instead of being dependant on proprietary cloud storage solutions, was extremely important to me.
Is there a cost associated with this resource?
Nope! The app is completely free on desktop and mobile. The synchronisation can be done via Syncthing, self-hosted servers (even something as simple as Nextcloud on a Synology NAS), or some proprietary cloud storage solutions, such as Dropbox, if that's your preference.
