The despawn timer at 11:09 server time in-game @ EUC Thirain:
Yeah, funny enough I was partially waiting for the NA switchover last night to see if they just broke something, or they just forgot that EU has DST or whatever. NA swapped fine as far as I can tell, so I guess they just forgot about making EU do the same or something.
Your change is close to what I was thinking about doing. Changing to a non-DST time-zone. Probably Africa/Johannesburg since that seems to be the only +2 time zone that doesn't have any DST.
I'm sure for some unknown reason AZG/SG will decide to flip it in the middle of the week though and make it broke again.
Well, one way to see what happens. But speaking from experience, from release until now they have changed the server time in EU only once. And it broke so many things that I kinda believe they won't be trying it again.
@Xeio
With this maintenance our Europe Central servers will be updated to reflect Daylight Saving Time. We apologize for the delay in this update as a problem arose that would affect players’ in-game rewards. This was investigated and corrected, and we can now bring you this change in-game!
:( Sorry man. This is coming tomorrow, will see the result.
I figured as much. 😔
As we have known for a while, Lost Ark does not respect DST. Or at least it doesn't work the way people would expect. Now after the autumn time change, our clocks moved (including the ones for Europe/Warsaw, Europe/Sofia, and all others respecting DST) and now Europe/Warsaw (UTC+1 currently) is 1 hour behind server time, while Europe/Sofia (UTC+2 currently) is aligned with server time.
A permanent change (maybe?) would be to just hardcode UTC+2 or use a timezone that uses UTC+2 and doesn't respect DST. But we never know what Lost Ark would do with their server times, so that also might not prove useful. We might just end up being slaves to this issue.
