This is mostly a cleanup of our documentation as I read through and tried to improve it. Some highlights:
a lot of spelling and grammar mistakes fixed. Probably some introduced as well. But on average, this should be better.
all contractions (example: it's) replaced by non-contracted versions of words (example: it is). I just picked one over the other. This could be discussed and it would definitely be possible to go the other way and replace all non-contractions with contractions.
various clarifications to the docs where I found them unclear

My suggestion for reviewing this is to accept that the spelling and grammar changes taken as a package are on average better than before, and focus on the larger changes (which I've added comments to myself to further highlight them). Ideally I would not have mixed these two change types in the same PR, but it was kind of tricky not to.
If you want to check this PR commit by commit instead, you will see that I have at least separated cleanups and actual changes in the commits.
