Crash on first open, and subsequent opens. #765

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open the app.
2. It crashes.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
App should open, but it only bounces on the dock and then crashes. If I hit
"Reopen" on the first crash report, it opens and works fine (except after vein
inactive for a while). If I close the app, it crashes instead of closing
properly, and if I try to reopen, there is a very low chance I can get it back
open unless I restart, then the process begins again.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
v0.25 on Mac OS X 10.9.4

Please provide any additional information below.

Hi damiog,

I'm the same guy from Issue 763. I started a new issue because the other was
marked as Done and I don't think you saw I added a new comment to it.

The comment I added there is as follows: So, this did fix the issue... for a
time. Chrome is now working correctly, and I have no knowledge of any other
apps on my machine that are crashing regularly (or even irregularly).

I did the combo update 2 times now, have done an SMC reset (that helped my
machine a lot, actually), but Subler now only opens "sometimes" but mostly
crashes after bouncing on the dock for about 20-30 seconds. I can sometimes get
it to work (I mean maybe 5% of the time), but it always crashes if I leave it
idle for about 10 min (I can go through a queue just fine, but if I leave it
open without doing anything with it then it will crash).

I've attached a txt of the new crash log that I'm getting. Please help!

Your disk might be going bad, or something is corrupted again…

Considering all my other apps and processes are working fine, couldn't we
assume that it's more probably a software failure than a hardware failure?

Your crash log says it crashes before loading a single line of Subler code. Or
your Subler copy is corrupted or some system libraries are corrupted. And
usually this isn't a good sign of disk health.

Well anyway you can try the 0.26 beta.

I'll keep an eye on it.

I used AppCleaner to remove all Subler-related files from my HD, then I
downloaded the 0.26 beta and it opened immediately on the first try. It also
closed out just fine and reopened again immediately.

Looks like there may have been something corrupted within the Subler files that
weren't removed by just deleting the app. Once those were gone and perhaps
regenerated with the beta, everything seems to be working fine.
