This mod/modcollection is intended to make the game last longer to power players. Resources such as avorion should remain available even in the event of a near-complete destruction of the core factions, for example. Similarly, new challenges and interesting things should be achievable even after the main game itself has been beaten.
The following is a not-exhaustive list of properties I feel that all features/mods should have:

Gameplay:
Repeating the same action with the same parameters, without thinking should not yield much- if any reward at all (e.g. visiting the same 2-3 sectors to regenerate wrecks/bosses etc.)
Proportionality to difficulty/time spent, over a longer average. (e.g. perhaps sometimes really bountiful stuff happens, but it shouldn't consistently happen; see 1.)
Adventure: it is preferred that exploration, visiting the unknown and working with other players is encouraged.
Technical:
Performance: mods should be kept as efficient as possible.
Mods should always minimally interfere with existing scripts/other mods.
Mods should be easy to install and easy to uninstall.
