I'm not a maintainer or anything but I think this is a neat idea. I play a lot of Jagged Alliance 2 1.13, which has suppression mechanics that work by some formula that's affected by the amount of bullets whizzing by. The more there is, the more aggressive the point loss. Even pistol fire drops points just a tad, but machine gun fire can put you outright into the negatives, where you'd need to wait to have a round with full points.
reduce TU and morale of unit for narrowly missed spray of bullets. This makes machineguns a viable way to "block off" an area.
