I successfully installed systray-x-gnome on Debian 11 / Gnome 3.38 / TB 102.4 It works just great

One question though : why do we need the default Thunderbird icon ? All it does is giving access to the menu, which we already have with the mail counter icon :

Why 2 icons ? Seems to me that the default Thunderbird icon unnecessarily takes up space. Is it possible to disable it ?

I close this issue myself. After rebooting my laptop I indeed had only 1 icon left. Works great !
