Block Chain of Hospital management System:
Block chains are created by two major units(having unique id):
1.Hospitals/Doctors (clinic)
2.Insurance Company
Four transactions to be identified in block chain:
Patient>hospitals
Customer/Patient>Insurance Company
Insurance Company>Hospitals
Hospitals>Doctors
Key Points Maintaining the Block Chain:
Patient>Hospitals
Only Hospital can update patient’s history on the profile
Customer/Patient >Insurance Company
Insurance Company can update the amount details related to customer and their bond agreement .
Sensitive Private Information:
Diseases/allergies can be updated by doctors verified id along with transactions.
Graphical analytics chart can be maintained automatically
Linking the parents and family to identify common illness.
Insurance company updates profiles on transactions by verified ids of the company
Profile of Patient/Customer
Profile will contain various details accepted from user in name , address, gender , age , other basic details
The account created by he person must be verified by secure identity , password , email , linked through Aadhar card or other verifiable document.
The private health information of the profile can be shareable only via a secret key generated via unique key
Project Limitations
Uncertainty :The block chain concept is not widespread yet and there are only a few successful initiatives based on this modern technology at this time . That is a major hurdle because we don’t have many successful models to follow which creates an uncertain situation.
Storage Capability: Block chain within the healthcare industry will be comprised of medical records , images , documents and lab reports which require a significant amount of storage space. Conceptually , every member included in the chain would have a complete copy of the full medical record of every individual in the country and this volume could potentially exceed the storage capacity of the current block chain technology.
Data Ownership: Who will own the healthcare data? Who will grant permission to share it? That kind of structured department or process hasn’t been established yet.
Cost: The cost of establishing and maintaining a healthcare block chain is unknown yet and no one can seriously consider this technology without knowing about its expenses ahead of time .
Rules and Regulations : There are no rules available to address the use of block chain in the healthcare industry. It is also uncertain as to how new policies regarding healthcare block chain will conform to current privacy regulations like the HIPAA act.
