Hi,

I have a TTGO t-display which stoped working. If I power it up via USB connection the blue LED starts flashing rapidly but nothing more happens. The modul is not showing up via USB on my Windows 10 PC (USB driver ist correctly installed since my other TTGO t-display is showing up with a COM-Port assigned correctly). Is there a way to directly update the bootloader and or firmware to get the modul back to life? Thank you very much for your help. Majrestix

I have the same issue. Suddenly ttgo unable to detect by pc. Screen showing nothing. And blue led is blinking. Any solution or the board is dead now? It used to work fine before.

Try powering it on while pressing the left button.

Thank you a159x36, but did unfortunately not work :-(

I have the same issue

Hello. The current situation is that there are COM ports. Can't burn? What does burning error message print?

Majestix1970 commented 2 years ago

Hi LilyGo, the problem is that the complete device does not respond at all. Does not even register as USB device Therefore not reachable or flasable at all. Did suddenly stop working during normal use (not flashing/burning anything) Device was about 2 weeks old....

LilyGO commented 2 years ago

If there is no COM port. It is possible that the CH9102 chip is damaged

I'm having the same issue. Gonna try reflashing the firmware with the esp download tool.

argusinsights commented 1 year ago

Did that work? Just got one and all it does is blink...

Majestix1970 commented 1 year ago

Nope nothing worked unfortunately. I need to find the time to change the USB chip CH9102......

Does someone was able to make it to work?

AnjinMeili commented 8 months ago

Found this happening myself on a MacBook using a thunderbolt 3 hub with a quality USB A to USB C cable.

Switched to a differing cable attached direct the MacBook and all is well.

@AnjinMeili Same experience here. I have more than one cable, including from Apple, where this was a problem. Solved by using another cable after some trying.

Had this. Thouht it died. But connected via serial to terminal and saw that watchdog keeps resetting the board. Reflashing old demo didn't help. So I downloaded the latest flasher and flashed the latest demo from https://github.com/Xinyuan-LilyGO/TTGO-T-Display/blob/master/firmware/firmware.bin. And it came back alive.

I have the same issue - the factory demo is currently loaded and runs fine, but the power LED flashes rapidly and continuously and no serial port enumerates when connected to a PC, rendering it impossible to do anything with it. I have several of these boards and this is the only one demonstrating this problem. I expect maybe the serial bridge circuit may be faulty or damaged - is there any way to verify, or other things I can try?
