Windows version of v2.30 detected as trojan #82

When I downloaded it, it was immediately quarantined by Windows Defender after being detected as a severe threat: Trojan:Win32/Znyonm I tried it several times and the same thing happened, please check that the downloads haven't been altered as when I first tried it 3 weeks ago (release of v2.30), there were no issues.

EDIT: v2.29 and others seem to be fine. No threat detected

A lot of people have been experiencing that issue, best you can do is report it to your AV company as a false positive. The builds are free of malware and (hopefully) reproducible, they’re done through GitHub Actions so you can see what’s going on. The malware detection might have to do with the introduction of Aria2 as the downloader backend, which greatly improves download speeds, so I can’t simply revert such change.

Won’t close this issue until I see that it doesn’t get triggered anymore.

TL;DR: false positive, report it as such.
